Dallman-Weiss' sailing journey began at a young age, as she took lessons on the tranquil waters of White Bear Lake. Her father, a self-taught sailor, introduced her to the sport, and she quickly fell in love with the freedom and challenge of navigating the waves. "I grew up on just taking lessons on White Bear Lake," Dallman-Weiss reminisced. "My dad had taught himself how to sail, and then I just took lessons and started sailing with him and just loved sailing on White Bear Lake."Chasing the Olympic Dream
Dallman-Weiss' passion for sailing led her to Eckerd College in Florida, where she continued to hone her skills and compete at the highest levels. Her dedication and talent paid off when she earned a spot on the U.S. Olympic team, representing her country in the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. Although she and her partner finished in 12th place, Dallman-Weiss is determined to make an even stronger showing in the upcoming Paris Olympics.Packing for the Games
As Dallman-Weiss prepares for the Paris Olympics, she is meticulously packing her bags, ensuring she has everything she needs to perform at her best. "It's a lot of food," she said, alluding to the importance of proper nutrition and sustenance during the intense competition. But her packing list extends beyond just the essentials – she is also making sure to bring along personal items that provide comfort and familiarity, such as letters from her mother and artwork from her brother. And, of course, she couldn't forget her favorite plush stuffed animal, a stand-in for the dog she wishes she could have with her on the journey.Training and Competing in Marseille
In the lead-up to the Paris Olympics, Dallman-Weiss has been training and sailing in the South of France, specifically in the city of Marseille. This picturesque coastal region has provided the perfect backdrop for her to hone her skills and prepare for the mixed dinghy competition, which is set to begin on August 2nd. With the support of her team and the guidance of experienced coaches, Dallman-Weiss is confident that she can make a strong showing and potentially bring home the coveted gold medal.Celebrating the Homecoming
